Facials — General
7 questionsWe offer European Facial, Red Carpet Facial, HydroDermabrasion, Microchanneling, Anti-age facials (including Biorepeel, Golden Retinol, and "Botox" Facial), and Acne Facials.
Every treatment is adjusted to what your skin actually needs that day — not just the service you booked.
Before every session Hanna looks at your skin and asks what's going on for you right now — your concerns, your routine, your goals. From there she'll suggest the best fit and explain why. You can also reach out before booking if you'd like guidance first.
A few quick pointers: if you want instant glow before an event → Red Carpet Facial. For deep hydration → HydroDermabrasion. For general skin health and lifting → European Facial.
Yes. Every device and technique we use has adjustable settings — suction levels, massage pressure, serum selection. Sensitive skin often responds beautifully to our treatments precisely because nothing is one-size-fits-all here.
The one exception: if your skin barrier is currently compromised or you have active inflamed rosacea, we work on restoring first. Hanna will tell you this honestly during your consultation.
Yes — all of our facials are compatible with Botox and fillers. The one timing rule: wait at least 2 weeks after Botox injections before your facial. If you're planning to get Botox after your facial, give it one week first.
Fillers don't require any waiting period in either direction.
Most of our treatments are fine during pregnancy — including the European Facial and HydroDermabrasion. We do avoid strong chemical peels and certain active ingredients.
Let Hanna know when booking — she'll adjust the treatment and product selection accordingly.
Once a month is the sweet spot for most people. Skin has roughly a 28-day renewal cycle, and monthly facials support that rhythm. The results are cumulative — each session builds on the last, and over time the difference in skin quality is significant.
Some treatments, like Microchanneling, have their own recommended frequency and seasonal timing — see the Microchanneling section for details.
Yes — most treatments are perfectly fine year-round, including the European Facial, Red Carpet Facial, and HydroDermabrasion. Charleston summers are intense on skin — heat, humidity, UV exposure — and these treatments are excellent for rehydrating and resetting.
The one exception is Microchanneling, which we recommend October through April, when sun exposure is lower.
European Facial
5 questionsThe European Facial at Beauty Studio by Hanna is a 60–90 minute treatment built around deep cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, and a 30-minute lymphatic drainage and sculpting massage — Hanna's signature technique.
The massage component is what sets it apart from most facials. It visibly reduces puffiness, lifts facial contours, and relaxes muscle tension. Most clients fall asleep. While your mask is setting, Hanna continues with neck, décolleté, and shoulder massage — because the lymphatic system doesn't stop at the chin.
From one session: cleaner pores, reduced puffiness, lifted and more defined contours, and skin that looks genuinely rested. The massage effect on the face is immediate and visible.
With regular monthly sessions: progressively firmer skin, smaller-looking pores, softer fine lines, and more even tone over time.
Buccal massage is a sculpting technique where massage is performed both externally and from inside the mouth — accessing the cheeks and jaw from both sides simultaneously. It releases deep muscle tension, reduces nasolabial folds, and sculpts the lower face in a way that external massage alone can't reach.
It can be added to your European Facial as an enhancement. Ask Hanna when booking.
They work differently. Botox paralyzes muscles to prevent wrinkle formation — it's fast and effective for one session versus one injection. But over time, repeated use weakens the muscles.
Regular lymphatic drainage and sculpting massage strengthens and relaxes the muscles simultaneously, improves circulation, and produces cumulative lifting results without affecting the structure of the face. It requires more commitment — regular monthly visits — but the results are natural and the approach is inherently healthy for the skin and muscles long-term.
They're not mutually exclusive. Many clients do both — facial massage for overall skin health and maintenance, Botox when they want targeted line correction.
A single European Facial is $180. We also offer a 10-session package for $1,700 — ideal for clients who want to commit to a monthly ritual. See the full price list here.
Anti-age Facials
5 questionsOur anti-age facial menu includes: Biorepeel, Golden Retinol Skin Reconstruction, "Botox" Facial with Argireline, Green Power Peel, Mini Facial, Refreshing Facial, and Microchanneling Face+Neck.
Each targets aging differently — some focus on resurfacing, others on stimulating collagen, others on relaxing muscle tension. Hanna will help identify which combination makes sense for your skin's current state and your goals.
BioRePeel is a professional chemical peel with a unique biphasic formula — it contains TCA (trichloroacetic acid) alongside amino acids, vitamins, and GABA. Unlike traditional TCA peels, it has minimal downtime and no visible peeling in most cases.
It addresses wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, hyperpigmentation, and uneven texture. It's suitable for all skin types and can be used year-round. Most clients describe the skin as smoother, brighter, and more even after just one session.
The "Botox" Facial uses Argireline — a topical peptide that works on a similar principle to Botox by inhibiting muscle contractions that cause expression lines. It's applied to the skin surface and supported by electroporation to improve penetration.
It doesn't work as fast or as dramatically as an injection, but it's non-invasive, cumulative, and has no downtime. It's a great option for clients who want to address early lines without injectables, or as a maintenance treatment alongside Botox.
This is a professional retinol treatment — a resurfacing facial that combines the application of encapsulated Vitamin A (retinol) with supporting ingredients to promote skin cell turnover, stimulate collagen, and improve texture and tone.
Professional-grade retinol penetrates more effectively than most at-home products. The treatment includes cleansing, exfoliation, serum application, a targeted mask, and moisturizer. It's particularly effective for fine lines, uneven texture, dullness, and post-acne discoloration.
It depends on your primary concern. For overall rejuvenation and lifting — start with the European Facial to establish a baseline. For targeted resurfacing of lines and texture — Biorepeel or Golden Retinol. For deep skin renewal over a course of treatments — Microchanneling.
The most important step is the first conversation with Hanna — she'll look at your skin and give you an honest recommendation based on what's actually going on, not just what's on the menu.
Acne Facials
5 questionsYes, but the approach changes depending on what type of acne and how active it is. With inflamed, pustular acne we work on calming and treating first — not extracting, not stimulating. The goal is to reduce inflammation and support the skin's healing.
Once the active acne is under control, treatments like HydroDermabrasion or Microchanneling are excellent for improving the skin afterward — fading post-inflammatory marks, smoothing texture, and rebuilding a healthy barrier.
The acne facial menu includes: Acne Facial with Chemical Peel, Deep Cleansing Pore Facial, Green Power Peel (a microneedling alternative), Golden Retinol Skin Reconstruction, Biorepeel, and Microchanneling Face+Neck.
Each targets acne differently — some focus on clearing congestion, others on chemical exfoliation, others on post-acne repair. The right choice depends on whether you're dealing with active breakouts or working on what's left after.
Yes — the suction component of HydroDermabrasion clears congestion really effectively. For stubborn blackheads, Hanna also works on them manually. Your skin will be properly clean after, not just feeling clean.
With salicylic acid serum selected during the treatment, it's particularly effective for acne-prone skin — salicylic goes into the pore lining and helps prevent future congestion from forming.
Post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (the flat dark marks left after breakouts) responds well to regular resurfacing treatments — HydroDermabrasion with Vitamin C serum, Biorepeel, and Golden Retinol are all effective options.
Actual atrophic scars (indented texture) require deeper stimulation — Microchanneling is the most effective option we offer for this. It creates controlled micro-channels that trigger the skin's healing response and collagen production. A series of treatments produces the most significant improvement.
They work differently. Salicylic acid is oil-soluble, which means it can actually penetrate into the pore lining — it's the go-to for congestion, blackheads, and acne. Glycolic acid works on the surface to exfoliate dead skin cells and improve texture and tone — better for post-acne marks and overall radiance.
In our HydroDermabrasion treatment, Hanna selects the serum based on your skin's current needs — sometimes both in the same session, in the right order.
Device-Enhanced Facials
4 questionsDevice-enhanced facials combine manual skincare techniques with professional devices to achieve results that aren't possible through hands-on work alone. At Beauty Studio by Hanna this includes HydroDermabrasion with oxygen infusion, Microchanneling, RF (Radio Frequency) therapy, Microcurrent, and LED light therapy.
Each device targets a specific biological process — collagen stimulation, cellular hydration, muscle toning, or skin resurfacing — and produces measurable, visible results.
RF therapy uses controlled heat energy to penetrate the deeper layers of skin, where it causes collagen fibers to contract and stimulates the production of new collagen. The result is firmer, tighter skin over time — without any downtime.
It's particularly effective for skin laxity — loose or crepey skin after significant weight loss, post-pregnancy, or age-related collagen loss. It works on both the face and body. Results are gradual and cumulative, and a course of treatments produces the most significant improvement.
Microcurrent delivers low-level electrical currents that mimic the body's natural bioelectric field. The muscles in the face interpret these signals as natural and respond by toning and re-educating — the result is improved facial contour, lifted muscle tone, and more defined features over a course of treatments.
It's non-invasive, completely painless, and has no downtime. Often described as a "workout for the face." The Facial with RF and Microcurrent is a particularly popular treatment during summer months in Charleston, when heavier treatments aren't ideal.
LED (light-emitting diode) therapy uses specific wavelengths of light to trigger biological responses in the skin at a cellular level. Different colors target different concerns:
Red light (used in our Red Carpet Facial and HydroDermabrasion) stimulates collagen production, reduces inflammation, and supports anti-aging and post-acne repair. Blue light targets acne-causing bacteria and is useful during active breakout phases.
LED is painless, has no downtime, and works well as a finishing step that enhances the results of the treatment before it.
HydroDermabrasion
7 questionsHydroDermabrasion is a two-step treatment: first, a professional device exfoliates the skin and vacuums away dead cells and congestion while simultaneously infusing a hydrating serum. Second, an oxygen gun pushes those serums deeper into the freshly opened skin.
The device (Glownar PureHydro system) has two chambers — one holds the serum, the other collects everything extracted from the skin. The result is skin that is both deeply clean and genuinely nourished in a single session.
HydraFacial is a brand name for a hydrodermabrasion-style treatment. The concept is identical — exfoliation and serum infusion in one step. The difference is in the specific device, serum formulations, and protocol used.
At Beauty Studio by Hanna, we use the Glownar PureHydro system with Zemits professional serums, plus an additional oxygen infusion step. If you've had a HydraFacial and loved it, you'll love this too.
Hanna selects from four Zemits serums based on your skin's needs that day: Vitamin C (brightening, uneven tone), Hyaluronic Acid (deep hydration), Glycolic Acid (texture and fine lines), or Salicylic Acid (congestion, acne-prone skin). Sometimes a combination is the right answer.
There's an important detail about hyaluronic acid specifically: it has a fairly large molecule and normally sits on the surface. After exfoliation, when the skin is freshly cleared, it can travel significantly deeper than usual — which is why the order of steps in the treatment matters.
It's one of the best treatments for dehydrated skin — the design of the procedure means you're hydrating while you exfoliate, not after. Active ingredients go in exactly when the skin is most prepared to receive them.
It's also excellent for recovering from a long flight. Airplane cabin air has very low humidity and actively pulls moisture from the skin over hours. This treatment puts it back efficiently.
Yes — it's one of our most requested pre-event treatments. No downtime, immediate glow, and the results keep improving over the following days. Book 4–5 days before the event for best timing.
For a wedding, adding Dermaplaning as an add-on to either HydroDermabrasion or the Red Carpet Facial is a popular combination. The combination is particularly effective for makeup application.
No. There is no downtime, no peeling, and no redness in most cases. You can go about your day immediately. For heavy makeup, it's worth waiting 2–3 hours.
SPF every day after is non-negotiable — freshly exfoliated skin is more photosensitive.
HydroDermabrasion is $220 for 90 minutes. See the full price list here.
Red Carpet Facial
6 questionsThe Red Carpet Facial is Hanna's signature 90-minute treatment designed for occasions when your skin needs to perform. It combines microdermabrasion, a 30-minute lymphatic drainage massage, a treatment mask, and red LED light therapy.
What sets it apart is the 30-minute massage — most facials include five minutes of massage, maybe ten. Hanna's includes thirty, with sculpting and drainage techniques that visibly lift contours and reduce puffiness. While the mask is setting, she continues with hands, neck, décolleté, and shoulders. Results are immediate, with no downtime, and keep improving for several days.
Yes — that's what it's designed for. Book 4–5 days before the event. There's no downtime, no redness, and you can wear makeup 2–3 hours after. The glow is immediate, and the results from the massage continue to improve daily — you'll look your best on the actual day.
Clients book this before weddings, photo shoots, galas, reunions, and important meetings. Some come back for it before every event that matters to them.
Microdermabrasion uses a diamond-tip device to mechanically exfoliate the skin — buffing away dead cells and vacuuming them up in one pass. It works on dry skin, is precise and controllable, and requires zero recovery time.
Chemical peels exfoliate through chemical reaction and often require a period of visible peeling and sensitivity afterward. For an event-facing treatment, mechanical exfoliation is a better fit — all the surface renewal, none of the recovery.
Yes, significantly. The 30-minute lymphatic drainage massage is specifically designed to move fluid, reduce puffiness, and define facial contours. Eye puffiness, jaw swelling, and general morning-face fullness all respond well to this technique.
Lymphatic drainage works by manually stimulating the lymph nodes and vessels to clear accumulated fluid. The effect is both immediate and cumulative — regular monthly treatments train the lymphatic system to drain more efficiently on its own.
Yes, Dermaplaning is available as an add-on. Dermaplaning removes fine facial hair (vellus hair) and an additional layer of dead skin using a sterile blade. Combined with the Red Carpet Facial, it creates an unusually smooth surface for makeup application and enhances the overall glow. Especially popular for weddings and photo shoots.
The Red Carpet Facial is $220 for 90 minutes. It includes microdermabrasion, 30-minute lymphatic drainage massage, neck and décolleté massage, treatment mask, and red LED light therapy. Dermaplaning is available as an add-on — ask when booking.
Microchanneling
6 questionsMicrochanneling uses a precision stamping device with very fine needles to create thousands of tiny micro-channels in the skin. These channels do two things: they trigger the skin's natural healing response, which stimulates collagen and elastin production, and they allow growth-factor serums to be delivered directly where they're needed.
At Beauty Studio by Hanna, we use Procell Microchanneling with MD Serum — a protocol designed to maximize skin renewal with minimal discomfort and downtime.
Both create micro-channels in the skin to stimulate collagen. The key differences are in depth, technique, and downtime.
Traditional microneedling typically goes deeper, causes more trauma to the tissue, and often involves more significant redness and recovery time. Microchanneling uses a stamping motion (rather than rolling) which is more controlled and less aggressive, works at a more superficial depth, and has significantly less downtime — most clients can return to their regular activities the same day or next day.
Microchanneling is effective for: fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars and post-inflammatory marks, uneven skin texture, hyperpigmentation, enlarged pores, and loss of firmness. It's one of the more powerful tools we have for structural skin concerns that surface-level treatments can't fully address.
October through April is the ideal window in Charleston. Microchanneling increases the skin's photosensitivity during the treatment and healing period, and Charleston's summer sun is intense enough to interfere with results and increase the risk of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation.
The fall-to-spring season is the perfect time to do a full course — your skin comes into summer stronger, firmer, and more even.
Most clients describe it as mild pressure or a light scratching sensation — not painful. The stamping technique used in Procell Microchanneling is gentler than rolling-based microneedling. Topical numbing is available if you prefer extra comfort.
For visible improvement in texture, scars, and tone — a series of 3–6 sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is recommended. Some clients see meaningful changes after 2–3 sessions; more significant concerns benefit from a full course.
Maintenance sessions 2–3 times per year after completing the initial series help sustain the results. Hanna will assess your skin and give you a realistic timeline at your first appointment.
Sugaring
6 questionsSugaring uses a paste made from sugar, water, and lemon juice — nothing else. It's applied at body temperature, so there's no risk of burns.
The key difference from wax: sugar paste adheres only to dead skin cells, not live skin. This means it doesn't pull on the skin itself, which makes it less painful and much gentler — especially for sensitive skin. It also removes hair in the direction of growth, which significantly reduces the risk of ingrown hairs compared to wax.
Generally yes — because the paste only grips dead skin cells, not live skin, there's less trauma with each pass. Many clients who found waxing painful find sugaring much more comfortable.
Sensitivity varies by area and individual. Bikini and Brazilian areas are naturally more sensitive regardless of method. But for most areas, the difference is noticeable.
Yes — this is one of the main reasons clients switch from waxing. Because sugar paste removes hair in the direction of growth and exfoliates the skin at the same time, it significantly reduces the likelihood of hairs curling back and becoming ingrown.
With regular sugaring appointments, clients who previously struggled with persistent ingrown hairs typically see a significant improvement over time.
We offer sugaring for the full body: lip, chin, cheeks, nose, full face, underarms, arms (full or upper/lower), legs (full or upper/lower), bikini line, bikini full front, Brazilian bikini, and buttocks. See the full price list on our sugaring page.
Sugaring removes hair at the root, just like waxing, so results last 3–5 weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. Many clients find regrowth comes in slightly finer over time with regular appointments, as repeated removal from the root gradually weakens the follicle.
About 1/4 inch (6mm) — roughly 2–3 weeks of growth after shaving. If it's your first time or you've been shaving, this is the minimum to ensure the paste can grip the hair properly. For regular clients maintaining their sugaring schedule, the hair growth stays in the right range naturally.
Body Contouring
6 questionsBody contouring at Beauty Studio by Hanna uses the Zemits EndoLuxx device — a professional system that combines compressive micro-vibration massage, lymphatic drainage, RF (radio frequency), and LED therapy in one treatment.
The treatment works with the body's natural systems: it moves stagnant lymphatic fluid, breaks down fatty deposits, stimulates collagen production in the skin, and improves circulation. The result over a course of treatments is reduced cellulite, improved skin firmness, and more defined body contour.
Yes, with consistent treatment. Here's the science behind it: cellulite is partly caused by fluid accumulating between fat cells — when that fluid is stagnant and inflamed, it creates the dimpled appearance. The EndoLuxx device physically moves that fluid through compressive massage and lymphatic drainage, which reduces the inflammation and the visual appearance of cellulite.
This is a concern that affects all body types — it's not simply about weight. The treatment works for both slim and fuller figures because it targets the fluid and structural issue, not just fat volume.
Optimal results come from a course of 10 sessions. Most clients see visible changes within the first few sessions — improved skin texture and reduced puffiness. The full contouring and firming results develop over the full course.
Maintenance sessions after completing the course, combined with staying well hydrated and active, help sustain and continue the results.
RF body treatment is particularly effective for skin laxity — loose or crepey skin that has lost its structure. The RF energy heats the deep layers of skin, causing existing collagen to contract (an immediate firming effect) and stimulating the production of new collagen over the following weeks.
It's especially helpful for skin after significant weight loss, post-pregnancy changes, or age-related skin laxity. It doesn't eliminate fat — it specifically addresses the skin's structure and firmness.
No. The EndoLuxx treatment feels like a deep, firm massage — intense in a satisfying way, not painful. The RF component adds warmth. Most clients find the session relaxing.
There's no downtime. You can return to your normal activities immediately after.
There's no significant "rollback" if you complete a course and support it with a healthy lifestyle afterward. The improvements to skin structure from RF and collagen stimulation are lasting. The lymphatic and fluid improvements need ongoing maintenance — staying hydrated, active, and doing periodic maintenance sessions keeps the results in place.
A healthy lifestyle isn't a disclaimer — it's genuinely part of the protocol. The treatment works with the body's systems, and those systems work best when you take care of them.
